A few weeks ago, my high school basketball team and I lost the opportunity to play in front of many college coaches because our coach was diagnosed with COVID-19 the day before our second playoff game. The end result was we had to immediately withdraw from the playoffs without any effort of playing again. The time is now time for me to take what I have been given and taught and use it wisely. The opportunities available today are plentiful. I must grasp the opportunities and fulfill my potential. My first plan of action is to pursue the next level in my education. I plan on furthering my education and pursue an undergraduate degree in Kinesiology. If the opportunity presents itself, I would love to play basketball at the collegiate level. I do know and understand that this may be a difficult task, but I believe that elementary, middle-school, and high school has equipped me with the tools to be a student athlete. I do know and understand the importance of maintaining a good G.P.A.
I feel that I would be a good candidate for a collegiate team. I believe that I have a good work ethic and the determination to better my basketball skills. The trait that makes me different is my work ethic. I do know and understand that one must make sacrifices off the court to be the best student athlete you can be. The unprecedented circumstances of 2020-21, (a pandemic and 2 hurricanes), has taught me a lot. I know that we will get through this. There will be many opportunities available when this is all over. It is impossible to know what God or life may have in store for me, but I know that I will not waste the talents that God has given me. I will strive to do my best on and off the court.
