The people who have really influenced me through my life is my father and mother. I got interested in the game of basketball when I lived in Germany in 2011. I gained motivation when I was always selected last at recess for pick up games, I don’t like being last I want to be first. What I’ve learned about myself through this sport is with enough hard work and the right attitude I can achieve anything in life. My academic goal this year is to get straight A’s and B’a while in Junior college to open up my opportunities to transfer and work to get my masters degree.
My hardest obstacle right now is choosing to depart from my junior year season of high school basketball to really enhance my abilities on the court for my senior year in another high school. The reason why leaving the team was extremely difficult is because I had many friends and bonded very well with my teammates, so it felt like I was betraying or abandoning them, but the decision has proven to be the right choice and I look forward to the future.
I’m grateful for all the support I have and will always work hard for my team and coach and once set on a goal, will work steadfast until I achieve it.
