I believe I am a good candidate for any team on the college level, because I am an adaptor. Whatever system I'm thrown in, I'll adjust and find a way to make myself a factor. Due to my willingness to adapt to a new system and strong sense of intensity, I was named to the Lake Meade Holiday Classic All Tournament Team, where we won the tournament with a 5-0 record. We proceeded to battle throughout the season, beating our rival school twice, and finishing the year with a 20-7 record (the best record under our head coach's tenure) and surpassing last year's record of 10-16. This record gave us the second seed for the regional playoffs. Our game was quite competitive; we were down most of the game by a margin of 12 points. However, in the 4th quarter with three minutes remaining, we began to make a run and forced the game into overtime. In overtime, we continued our resiliency all the way down to the wire with 15 seconds left and trailing by 2. I managed to hit a three pointer to put us up by one and with about three seconds left, the opposing team made a shot to win the game. Although, it was a heartbreaking loss, we played well as a unit, and I was very proud to be apart of Boulder City varsity basketball team. As the season in review, I was named a scholar athlete, offensive player of the year, 2nd team All-Sunrise League, and All-Southern Region Honorable Mention. Moving to Nevada was a blessing in disguise because it allowed me an opportunity to grow, develop, and mature both on and off the court. The relocation has also restored my dreams and aspirations to play collegiate basketball; a dream that seemed dim at my previous school. As I reflect on my life, this thing called, "Adversity" has helped to mold me into an individual who uses obstacles to propel and accomplish goals in my life. Adversity has taught me to be resilient and to never give up, yet continue to work harder. I am a good candidate for your team because when the going gets tough...I get going. Rather than quit when the odds are not in my favor, I am totally committed and willing to be transformed into the student athlete, in which I will represent my collegiate community with the upmost respect and integrity.
