Hello! My name is John Patenaude, and I am currently a junior (class of 2025) at Gray New Gloucester High School in Gray, ME. I have aspirations of playing high level college basketball and majoring in Business with a concentration in Entrepreneurship. I am a strong candidate for any team looking for a passionate leader on and off the court, an extremely coachable yet fierce competitor, and a compassionate and engaged teammate.
In addition to these qualities, I am extremely self-motivated, determined, and dedicated to my growth as a player, a teammate, and a human being; every day, I put in effort that goes above and beyond that of my peers to become 1% better than the day before. I am committed to following a nutrition plan, waking up early to get shots in before school, and completing specialized workouts to optimize my strength, speed, and performance in the afternoon/evening; this is often in addition to my regularly scheduled practices for both my school and travel teams. I also attend open gym at my local elementary school for more time on the court and to engage with and support young, aspiring basketball players in my community.
Apart from my character, I am a skilled basketball player with impressive stats, dynamic ambition, and a thirst for knowledge and improvement. I will be a four-year Varsity player for my high school's team and will continue to play for my elite travel team. I am consistently named an impact player/player to watch by Varsity Maine and, last year, had the privilege of being named to the All-Region Team as a sophomore. I have intentions of continuing to garner awards and accolades for both my skills as an athlete and my sportsmanship throughout the remainder of my time at Gray New Gloucester HS.
As a student, I am a hard worker with genuine curiosity and investment. I particularly enjoy my humanities classes such as English, History, as well as Government & Politics. I currently hold a strong 3.5 cumulative GPA with goals of increasing this statistic to at least a 3.7. I also plan to engage in a more challenging course load in the coming semesters with the inclusion of AP classes and PSAT/SAT preparations.
In summary, I am passionate and invested athlete with lofty goals and the work ethic to back them up. I looked forward to communicating further with you!
