6’2 transfer guard Temple college
Hello coaches, my name is Amaan Sanni 26'. I am a 6’2 freshman guard at Temple Junior College. I am looking to transfer for more opportunity to contribute to a program. For some background, I recently represented Ireland in the 2023 FIBA U20 championship, with other past FIBA experience at the U16, and U18 levels. In 2022, I pursued my athletic and academic goals in the United States. I completed my senior season at Kents Hill School in the NEPSAC, where I further honed my skills and embraced the competitive spirit of American basketball.
I am reaching out to express my interest in contributing to your program during my sophomore year, as I have not had the opportunity to showcase my skills on the field during my freshman year.
In terms of character, I bring a relentless work ethic and a positive attitude to everything I do. Growing up in Ireland, I learned the importance of perseverance and resilience, values that have shaped me both on and off the court. I'm not just a player; I'm a leader who leads by example, motivating my teammates to give their best effort every time we step onto the court. My commitment to sportsmanship and integrity is unwavering, and I strive to be a role model for my peers.
Athletically, my international experience representing Ireland at the U16, U18, and U20 levels has provided me with a unique perspective and a high level of competition. I've faced off against some of the best young talent in the world, constantly pushing myself to improve and adapt. This experience has honed my skills and instilled in me a deep understanding of the game. Whether it's scoring crucial points, making key defensive stops, or facilitating teamwork, I thrive under pressure and rise to the occasion when my team needs me most.
While basketball has always been a significant part of my life, I equally prioritize my academic journey. I am not only dedicated but also versatile. While maintaining a solid 3.5 GPA. My current major is Kinesiology. I see academics as a requirement and an opportunity to expand my knowledge and perspective. My commitment to academic excellence is evident in my consistent performance and my induction into the honor roll. Furthermore, I am determined to contribute to the college's basketball program, bringing not only my skills but also my leadership and work ethic to the team.
Last season, I finished with per-game averages of 27 points, 10.1 rebounds, 4.2 assists, and 2 steals against stiff prep and some college competition such as Pingree, Austin Prep, Wheeler School, Brewster, and New Hampton, while reaching 1,000 points in 2 years of prep basketball. Last season I was selected to the All-NEPSAC team adding to my All-conference honors from last season. Most importantly, my team finished 20-5 clinching our league championship and making it to the NEPSAC semifinals.
