Hello, My name is Jan Piechocki and I just came back to Germany from my exchange student year in Jonesville,Mi. Since my father played professional basketball in Poland, basketball has always been a passion of mine. To become the best basketball player I can possibly be, My family and I decided to send me to a boarding school in Speyer,Germany, to the 2012/13 season. For the next 2 seasons I played for a team called 'Bis Baskets Speyer' in a nationwide u19 league called 'NBBL'. After 2 seasons and before my final year in the 'NBBL', My family and I decided to do an exchange student year in the United States, just like my brother did a couple of years ago. My brother, who has always been a big influence in my life, told me about his great experiences and encouraged me do it. Playing basketball in Jonesville was a very new and interesting experience since I have never been one of the taller kids on a basketball team. Ever since I played basketball in the Us it encouraged me even more to work more on my athletic abilities and my basketball skills and also work hard in the classroom to achieve a main goal of mine, playing college basketball. For the next two years I want to improve every single day, not just to be a better basketball player but also to be a better student.I am a hard working person and I am going through 2-3 workouts each day this summer break. When you evaluate my GPA, please consider that my english skills were not really good at the beginning but improved a lot throughout the year. I also wanted to add that since I was foreign exchange student, I did not take the ACT or SAT.
Thank you for your time, Jan Piechocki
