 Basketball is a big part of who I am, and its been that way since age 7. It's not an activity I participate in to pass time, nor is it just another sport. In a way, basketball is a stress reliever for me. Whenever I'm sad, upset, or just not having a good day I go into my backyard and practice until I can't breathe. Basketball calms me down & gives me the opportunity to express myself in a way words can't. Currently I'm a Senior in high school. I've played for multiple organizations, clubs, and schools. This upcoming season, considering I make the team, will be my fourth consecutive year playing high school ball. My freshman year I felt like I was the man. I was captain, leading scorer, and MVP. Sophomore year I was just shy of the previous accomplishments. Junior year, I way below those accomplishments. Last year was by far my worst season played, ever! And still to this day I don't understand why. I practice and watch film non-stop. But I won't let that discourage me. I'll just practice harder and watch more and more film. I am determined to make this season my best yet.Giving up is never an option! Although basketball is a huge part of me, I am a student first, My current GPA is 3.4 I rank # 51 of 252 peers. When I am unable to play ball my other stress reliever is playing the drums. Currently I'm a member of Thurston's Honors, Jazz and Marching band. I would love to pursue my career in basketball. I would love a scholarship to any division school and play ball. Of course it won't be easy especially this late in the game, but I'm sure I can make it happen. My dream is to become successful giving life my best. My wish & aspirations today is to go to college and continue to play ball taking me to the next level. My journey begins now!
