Here is my story:
I chose to go to Apple Valley knowing that I would have to wait my turn. I could’ve gone to one of the many other high schools interested in me and started varsity all four years, but I chose Apple Valley because I’d get to go against NBA level talent in Gary Trent Jr. and Tre Jones everyday, learn from and compete against them, be a part of a renowned championship program, and ultimately better prepare my game for the next level. As a result of this decision, I’ve had to wait my turn and sacrifice minutes to older guys, which is why although I have improved tremendously, I have flown under the radar as far as recruiting goes. Now that 10 out of 11 players on the varsity team are graduating (I being the one who isn’t), the torch has been officially passed to me and I look forward to continuing the the legacy of the Apple Valley program that has produced so many great players.
All my life I have never stopped working and preparing for opportunities, even when things may not have gone my way. My persistent work ethic through any and all circumstances is what separates me from other athletes, and is why I would be an excellent fit for your program. I love this game, and will commit to giving my absolute best to improving your program’s culture and your university.
