Freshman year of high school I was put on junior varsity, it was a tough year from getting beat up by varsity in practice to not playing much on junior varsity. I am happy I went through it making me mentally tougher for the rest of my years on high school. Being in the toughest conference in the state of Minnesota, the players are bigger and more athletic, adapting to that was difficult when I first started to play varsity my sophomore year.
Football is related to basketball in a sense, I was thrown into the fire playing against varsity as a freshman, making me tougher and keeping me mentally tough. earning All conference second team my junior year. Being coachable has helped me the most playing baseball. playing three sports doesn't give a lot of free time with an all around sport like baseball, with the other kids being more skillful, I need to be more mental than anyone else. Perfect for my position, catcher. And earning my first letter my junior year which to me is more of an accomplishment that my football award.
