I have never heard a sound more calming and beautiful as a perfect swish on a basketball hoop. Hearing that sound, whether I shot it or if my teammate shot the ball, puts me in my happy place. I have been playing, watching, and in the gym since I’ve been able to walk. I am a stretch four who can shoot, post up, put the ball on the floor, and pass. Basketball is every second of every day in my life. My family has always been around the game and I have always felt at home in the gym. Ever since I made my first basket and grabbed my first rebound, I have wanted to play at the highest level and be the best player and teammate I can be.
I am a leader on my team. I am the first to arrive to any practice, game, shoot around, or open gym and I don’t leave until the last chair is put away and the gym looks nicer than I found it.
I am also a leader in my school. I maintain a strong GPA. I am a friend to all and am not afraid to help someone in need. I help at our local youth basketball programs as much as possible. I want to share my passion for the game with the next generation just as others did for me.
I would like to attend a college that can give me a good education as well as help me grow my basketball IQ and skills, while I help the program succeed. I am still undecided in my area of interest but I enjoy the challenge of my math and science classes so that is the type of major I am researching. I want to find a college where I match well with the school, the basketball program, and the coaches.
