Gage DeCock '27 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Gage DeCock, I am a three-sport high school Freshman athlete. I excelled most in basketball this year due to my height and it is my favorite sport. It was my first year playing any organized sport as I graduated from a very small grade school. I learned a lot throughout the season and made steady improvement. I am 6'5", 175 pounds with a 78" wingspan. I have a standing reach of 99.5" flat foot. I am currently in track to improve my conditioning and leg strength. I played power forward, center, high and low post this season. I feel confident playing basketball and am always working to improve my abilities. 

My strengths on the court include being a team player, maintaining composure and listening to my coach's input. I am a defensive presence at the bottom of the 2-3 zone. I am basically a rebounder, shot blocker at this time. I am developing my low post game with short turn around jump shots and one dribble moves and had some nice assists from the high post position this year.  

I realize that I need to improve academically with a 2.7GPA as well as on the court. I am utilizing voluntary in school tutoring to improve my GPA. I am considering collegiate majors in the technology or business fields. I realize I have to put a lot of work in sports and academics, unfortunately basketball will not last forever, so I am trying to think beyond.
