Sports has always been an important part of my life and I have played most growing up. Basketball, Football, Soccer, Baseball, and Hockey. There is so much to learn and grow from sports; relationships, accountability, working as a Team and for me a sense of belonging. I grew up with parents who always competed in sports and have two younger siblings and competition is built into everything we do. I love to compete. Basketball is different for me. The team (much smaller and more tight nit), the sounds at the gym, and the atmosphere on game days is something I want to continue to be a part of after my high school career. It is the ultimate team sport, yet requires a high level of athleticism, dedication to always get better, and hard work.
I have been a bit of a late bloomer (and am still fairly young as I will graduate at 17), so until recently have always been the smallest kid so I had to make up for it in hard work and effort. I love playing defense, getting rebounds and assists, but will knock down an open three when needed. I am a very unselfish player looking for an opportunity to contribute to a team that values hard work.
"Hard work beats talent when talent fails to work hard".
