Joshua Napoleon Blamon Achieving A Goal The easiest road to achieving a goal is working hard, and the most difficult way is by thinking everything will just come to you easily. Although it may sound boring, the meaning these few words are quite effective and those few people that realized this are the ones that have shaped human history. An example would be Albert Einstein, famous for his contribution to Physics did not just get the knowledge by letting come to him he did research and did experiments to obtain the knowledge that helped him be the great inventor and scientist known today. it is clear that I am not in the same category as him or many others like him, but when I was in my 9th grade I had a clear view of the difficulties faced in life when trying to achieve such a huge goal of making the freshmen team and playing varsity the next year but I stuck with it and now I am making a name for myself as a basketball player. The best part about my success in basketball is the difficulties I face that do nothing but sweeten the whole experience. I was looked at my sophomore year to be selected to the Burlington county scholastic league. I did not like not making the Burlington county scholastic league so I spent countless amounts of hours at the park and whenever I could get a chance to play basketball I would. As a senior I felt I needed to add another sport for my resume and also to get stronger, so I decided to play football. Football has been a new experience for me both mentally and physically. Football has helped me gain more confidence as a person and gave me more and better attributes that can help me in basketball. While playing football, I have realized that I can do anything if I just put my mind to it. As a first year senior, I lead the county in yards per catch and I lead my team in receiving yards, and receptions. Football has not been an easy thing to do, but I??ve been watching videos of NFL athletes at my position and just overall trying to understand the game of football. Coming from a family where only one person had ever taken sports seriously, I had a tough time convincing my parents to let me go into not just basketball but football. My family's reserved attitude towards me playing basketball changed after they came to one of my games and saw me doing well and staying after practice to hone my skills more and more. As I played basketball more and more coaches started to tell me that I can play basketball in college and I realized immediately that chances like these came once in a lifetime and I certainly didn't want to miss it. Even though my parents are not keen about letting me go I am eager to play. My parents agreed to let me play in college as long as I can either get a scholarship or afford. When I was young, one of my dreams was to go college and enjoy every bit of the experience. As the years passed, I couldn??t wait to graduate from the high school and go to college. Many of my older friends talked about their experiences, and my high school friends were also excited about the idea of going to college. I wanted to achieve all of my goals of making it big in basketball, and getting into college I knew was the first step to achieving my goals. Here are some of the reasons that I want to get into college, to get a job that pays well, to prepare me for more education, and get high self-esteem. First, I want to get in college so that I can get a job that pays well if I do not make it in sports. The college degree will make it possible for me to achieve my goals. My dream job is to become a pro basketball player, which is a well- paying job. That will make my dream become true. By getting a degree, I will have the financial freedom to own big houses, own luxury cars, and ensure a better quality of life both for my family and myself. Getting a degree is hard, but it is also rewarding. Second, I am preparing myself for more education. I want education to be a major part of my life. I want to work my way up from a Bachelor's Degree to my PHD. I also think education will help me to be more open-minded. Attending a community college is an option but not my first choice. I am working hard both academically and athletics wise so I would expect to get into a good school with the help of a few people. Finally, college degree brings self confident. Being with college a degree will make my dream become true. A degree creates high self-esteem, and also good citizen to build a stronger nation. College degree makes a better person by learning new communication skills, expending knowledge base and becoming a better me. Moreover, learning to be a part of the community around me, and give myself the chance to have the lifestyle that I desire. In conclusion, here are some of the reasons that I am in college to get a job that pays well, to prepare me for more education, and get high self-esteem. Being in college is an important experience, and I am trying to get the best out of it by working very hard. Every day, I learn a lot of information, not just about the career that I want, but also about people around me. Going to college will introduce me to so many new experiences.
