Evan Werner '24 Recruiting Profile

I have been in love with the game since 4th grade when I was asked to play up with the fifth graders.  It didn't take long to realize that I found my sports calling.  I have playing ball ever since.  Although my town is a small town there were  many opportunities that were offered to me during basketball seasons.  I played on CYO teams, travel teams, rec teams and  AAU teams. I am a true team player with heart and dedication. I strive to be the best and help my team mates along the way.  When they say ball is life for me it truly is. This year as a freshman I was the only freshman that made the JV and Varsity Teams. I started on JV and played on varsity as well. Playing up against the older more experienced players made me love the game even more.  The thrill of defending someone older or taller than me and even scoring on them gave me the stamina and drive each game.  I never lose a game I always learn from them. Practicing each day and training each day has made me an even better athlete than I was a few years ago. I am already training for next year with my coaches, teammates and AAU teams to be an even stronger player and leader to prove I am ready for the next level. With my excellent academics, family support and my coaches support I am ready for this competition.
