Andrew Martin '24 Recruiting Profile

          I have loved basketball since I was 5 years old and playing ball with my two  older brothers on our driveway.  I learned the basic fundamentals of the game from them and my Dad, as we are all tall and athletic. I played Rec basketball for our town and continued to hone my skills as I got older. However, it wasn't until I won the NBA Dribble, Dish and Swish Competition (as an 8 year old), that I really began to focus on my future as a high school and collegiate basketball player.

           Throughout my grade school years, I played travel basketball and always played the forward,  the position I currently play for Phillipsburg High School (NJ) and Elite Academy (my AAU team). However, I realize that in college I may not be the only 6'5" player on the court, and have begun working on improving my ball handling skills. I am also focused on improving my outside shots, as opposed to driving through the paint. I consider myself a student of the game, and a very coachable player. My goal is to continually better not only my game, but those of my team mates. Success is about team work...all 5 guys working together toward a common goal.
