I became interested in basketball in 4th grade while playing in CYO. My CYO Coach is a huge influence in my life. He attends all my games today, gives me pointers, and provides training sessions. My love of the game comes from all of the great relationships that I have developed over the years with coaches, teammates, friends and family supporters.
I have learned that basketball is a unique sport. I can have a misstep, but with my hustle and quick thinking, I am able to transition easily and make up for it with a steal, assist or defensive stop. People say I have a “non-stop” or “never quit” attitude both on and off the floor. I have a great understanding of the game. I focus on anticipating a play before it develops. My passing skills, defense disruption and assists are a direct result of that focus.
One of my strongest skills is listening. I listen to coaches, teammates, referees and anyone that takes the time to give me advice or suggestions. I also pride myself in turning that advice into adjustments in my play. Although I am a self-starter, I love to be coached. While playing basketball, I look forward to gaining a great education and earning a degree.
