Jose Luis Garcia Perdigones '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi, I am Luis Garcia and I love playing basketball. I am a Spanish point guard, (heigh: 6 ft), who has played for Zentro Basket Madrid (Spain), a club that plays in a high category in Madrid, competing against teams like Real Madrid.

The 2021/22 academic year I studied at Belen High School (Grade 11), in New Mexico. I was selected by the school to play with the first team of the school, within the main quintet, reaching the state semifinals (Category 4A) and winning the Stu Clark Tournament 2021 Christmas tournament. We played the state semifinals in a college campus with an amazing atmosphere. I shared that year with my American family and my new friends and teammates, and it was a great experience. I have a great vision of the game, finding my teammates and moving the ball. I am a good ball handler too, and a good three point shooter.

The great sporting atmosphere that I have experienced at school has made me decide to continue my studies in the USA. I would like to be able to continue playing at a high level and improve my game by contributing as much as I can to the team, while continuing my studies and training academically. I would like to continue growing as a person, improving my level of English, meeting people in a multicultural environment, integrating myself into other activities within the University and teaching my classmates a bit of Spanish culture.

My sociable and integrating character favors the cohesion of the group. I consider myself a complete player who can contribute in defense and attack and I am very interested in improving. I consider that I have a great vision of the game and I always try to find the best option to favor the play of my teammates and that the group works well. 

I am a proactive person who always seeks to improve in all areas. I am currently taking a basketball referee course to work for the Madrid Federation this course.
At Belén High School I helped, as a coach, in a children's campus.

This summer I have competed in a 3v3 tournament (FIBA 3v3) and it has allowed me to improve aspects of my game. My profile is located at:
