Matthew Haynes '21 Recruiting Profile

I have played basketball since I was very young.  I really love the sport and wish to play at the next level.  I have worked on a farm my whole life and the countless hours have taught me the value of a good work ethic.  Having grown up on a farm, it also taught me how to be responsible.  These skills transfer to all parts of my life, including basketball.  When I was younger, I always wanted to the best at anything that I worked at.  This is why over the past years I have honed my skill set and played basketball every chance I had.  I aspire to be the best basketball player I can be for whichever team I may be fortunate enough to play for.  I believe that above all the talent, working hard will always get you to where you want to be. While basketball is my passion I have grown up to learn that there must be a balance between academics and athletics.  I take my studies very seriously and spend just as much time on academics.  I strive to be the best I can be in all fields.
