My goals are to play basketball in college and to get an undergrad. education that will help prepare me for graduate school. I would like to get a Ph. D and teach history at the college level. Another option is to attend law school. My older sister played college soccer and recently graduated from law school. She has made sure I understand the commitment of playing sports in college and balancing that with academics. I also understand that maintaining a high academic grade point helps the team achieve academic honors.
I believe that I'm going to benefit any team I play on due to my ability to "see the court" while playing point guard. Of course, I am going to listen to my coaching staff and implement our game plan. Basketball is the ultimate team sport, so a high basketball IQ is very important for a point guard who is handling and distributing the ball. I have played AAU ball since I was nine years old. What I learned quickly was that shoot first shoot point guards prevented talented teams from realizing their potential.
