Gabriel Roach '19 Recruiting Profile

    I remember falling in love with the game of basketball at such a young age. I would see Lebron James and tell my mom I wanted to be better than him some day.  He was also from Ohio, not too far from where I live, and to see him succeed really inspired me. I knew then that dreams can come true.  Through playing basketball as a young child, and up to this year as a sophomore, I have learned so much about myself. I'm an unselfish teammate. I love helping my teammates and am just as excited as they are when they succeed. I'm also very competitive and don't allow myself to be easily intimidated. I have faced many challenges along the way and and have learned that if you work hard enough, those challenges can be overcome. 
    I'm looking forward to my next two years of high school and making the most of playing basketball and getting my education. I plan to take my SAT and ACT soon and am preparing myself academically for the next step which is college. I love animals and my goal is to become a Veterinarian. The town that I come from is a small town where the ultimate goal is to be successful and get out. I'm hoping that I can use the game I love, basketball, to help me in achieving my dream, and being able to come back to my community to show the young kids that you can do anything you put your mind to.
