My name is Jarius Jones and I just finished my red-shirt freshmen basketball year at Ohio Dominican University in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference. I am finishing up my sophomore year in the classroom. I have 3 years of playing eligibility left.
I have decided to enter the NCAA transfer portal. I appreciate all that the Ohio Dominican coaching staff has done for me when they brought me into their program. I will always be grateful for them giving me a chance to do what I love and play D2 basketball after my ACL injury.
My decision to go into the portal was a tough one. I also know that I want to play in a strong basketball program that is competitive and committed to winning. My love and desire to be part of a program like that while getting a quality education drove me to my decision to enter the transfer portal.
I am a 6'5", 210 lbs. G/PG with a versatile skill set. I also currently carry a 2.5 GPA at ODU. I am committed to raising my GPA and finishing this semester strong with my grades.
I would love to play for and with a program that can best utilize my skillset. I would love to talk with and workout for you and your coaching staff to see if I would be a good fit for your program.
Here are my freshmen year stats at a glance:
11.6 PTS/G
5.9 REB/G
1.7 A/G
I started 18 of 24 games with a FG% of 36.9%.
As I adjusted to the college game, my play improved in the second half of the season. I had my career high of 26pts against #10 Hillsdale and had a career best 18 rebounds against Lake Erie. I also had other good games against quality competition in our conference.
