Avery Young '23 Recruiting Profile

My name is Avery Young and I am a 5'10, 160 lb. Point Guard from Brookside High School in Sheffield Lake, Ohio. I have been playing basketball ever since I could remember, and through that hard work, I have been the starting point guard for my varsity team since I was a freshman. Basketball has taught me many things in life such as teamwork, commitment, self-discipline, and mental toughness. These traits have helped me to be the person I am today not only on the basketball court but also in life. My family has continuously pushed me to be a helpful person in society as I have participated in various community service acts and have shown that I am willing to put others before myself and have shown that I can successfully work within any group I am put in. However, basketball is not everything I am, I am a dedicated student in the classroom and this shows on my transcript. I believe that whatever college I am blessed to attend I will prove my worth not only on the basketball court but also in the classroom.
