Growing up, playing college basketball wasn't ever a thought in my mind. I come from a football family where my uncle spent 12 years in the NFL, my father played D1 football, and my brother is currently playing D1. In 8th grade I made up my mind that I would go to college for basketball at the highest level I possibly could, and I would give everything I can to get there. A typical day for me consists of waking up at 4:30 AM so I can get to the gym for 2 hours before school. At the end of a usual day I would have had 5-6 hours of basketball workouts. I Don't only know the work it takes to play in college I know the competition too, my high school plays in the North Coast league with teams like Villa Angela st. Joes, Cleveland Central Catholic and St. Thomas Aquinas. Villa Angela won the division 2 state championship and Cleveland Central Catholic was the division 3 runner up. Out of the 6 teams in the conference 5 won their district 4 were in the regional finals and one state runner up and one state champion. I understand the work ethic college takes and the competition I will see there.
