Growing up in separate households, I have always had expectations put upon me from both sides and I have had big shoes to fill both in athletics and academics. I always perform with aspirations to play college basketball. My collegiate goals are to play college ball and to do it due to financial hardships. I want to make both of my families proud of me and I want to strive to become great at whatever I put my mind to. It would mean the world to me if I was able to play college basketball because it has always been my dream and I work so hard in the gym to reach that dream. I feel like I would make a good candidate for colleges because my knowledge of the game is well above other players. I may not be the tallest, the fastest, or the strongest but my brain is what separates me from everybody else. When I play, I am always two steps ahead of everyone and I can see things on the court that many other players cannot see. I am also an extreme competitor who will compete for any spot on the court. I get this competitive nature from both my parents but my dad more specifically. Everything we do, we make it a competition and being a competitor is important. Not only am I a competitor who will compete for any spot on the court but I am also a team player who respects all the coaches and their decision making. What makes me different from other recruits is that I can keep up very well with both academics and athletics. School is one of my strong suits in which I excel in the classroom. I always stay on task and can manage my time very well as far as schoolwork. Coaches would never have to worry about me in the classroom because I take school very serious thanks to my mother who is a school educator. She has always been on me and makes sure that I am doing what I am supposed to do in the classroom. I was not allowed to participate in any sport activities if my grades were not up. Thanks to my mom, she helped me understand that it is important to excel in the classroom because, for every basketball player, the ball will eventually stop bouncing so it is important to have the knowledge to apply it in life after basketball. I come from a long tree of collegiate sports in my family. My mom and my auntie both were college athletes so I have to fulfill the greatness that they left behind. Lastly, what makes me different from other recruits is that I am easy to get along with and I know for a fact that I would not waste a scholarship if given to me. I will come in and do what I have to do in order for our team to be successful. I will play as hard as I can and make sure the coaches do not feel like they wasted their time and money on me.
