Basketball, and sports in general, are a huge part of my life. I can’t remember when I didn’t play at least one sport. I played baseball and football in grade school, football, basketball and volleyball in Junior High and now in my Junior Year of High School, I play volleyball and basketball. When I’m not at practice or playing in a game or tournament, I spend my time at the YMCA or taking private lessons to enhance my capabilities.
As I shared earlier, I’m a diverse athlete. I’m particularly proud of being named player of the game in the regional basketball playoffs during my Sophomore Year. My Sophomore year I made all State 2-A, first team all-conference and first team all section and my Freshman year first team all section and second team all-conference for volleyball.
I’ve been fortunate to have great influences in my life: my parents, brothers, coaches and extended family. My aunt and uncle are in the local county sports hall of fame, she for volleyball and him for football. I’ve been taught from a young age about the importance of integrity and a strong work ethic.
Academics are important. During my sophomore year, I achieved high honors every semester and perfect attendance. My academic goal for high school is to finish in the top 10% of my class. Post high school, I hope to attend a good, solid college and major in a technology, science or medical field.
I strongly believe I have the framework to be a great student athlete. I understand the commitment it takes to play at the college level having watched my brother play Division 1 volleyball. My years of competing have taught me confidence is key, to never give up and to always believe in me and my team. I have a very positive mindset and a genuine concern for my team members.
