The first word I ever spoke was ball.
I have been playing recreational sports since I was 5 years old. Tee-ball, coach pitch, basketball, flag football, and soccer. When I was around 7 years old I realized that my strongest passion for sports was in baseball and basketball. I played both of these sports year-end and year-out since 2011. For baseball, I have played little league, township, tournament, Jr. legion, and JV team and Varsity for high school (Freshman year+ Junior year). For basketball I played for our township, AAU, middle school, freshman high school, and now my Junior year on our Varsity team. I also played basketball for a Christian youth organization.
I am a hardworking, dedicated, polite, humble, respectful student-athlete. My attendance and punctuality have been near perfect with school and sports. I have participated in many different volunteer activities such as a yearly event through my church-called Love Lehigh Valley where we help clean up our local community. I have also volunteered for the Allentown rescue mission- a local homeless shelter, participated yearly in missionary work through my church, volunteered regularly for local athletic non-profit organizations through my baseball and basketball teams. I've been a member of Key Club for three years. This club is initiated by my school and is involved in activities that supports our local community.
As most teenage boys do, I also enjoy hanging out with friends and playing video games. I have begun to gain skills and a strong work ethic also by working part-time in the summer for my family business rehabilitating houses, as well as many weekly chores at home.
Academically I have been able to maintain above-average grades in all subjects. During my freshman year, I also began taking one Honors class which was American Studies. I've stepped it up this year and currently take Honors Biology and Algebra 2. My current GPA is a 4.0. My plan continues to be the same, to work diligently.
Some of the things I have learned about myself through playing sports are that I enjoy and thrive on being a good team player, I am very competitive, I like being healthy and physically fit, sports are fun and rewarding, and at times are very challenging.
I am very grateful for my inherent athletic abilities. I am also very thankful for the consistent and steadfast support of my coaches, teachers, and family. I have been told by many coaches I am an unique five-tool player that can be counted on in various ways. To say I love being on a team and the game itself is an understatement.
