My collegiate goal is to attend a school that will prepare me to successfully enter the workforce and at the same time allowing me to be part of a team that I can grow my character and build life long relationships with my teammates and coaches. I would be a great addition to a college basketball program by bringing leadership, strong work ethic, encouragement and competitiveness. I really enjoy the mental side of basketball and understanding the different offensive sets and actions that may work in certain situations. As well as understanding my opponents and identifying any advantages our team may have and how to implement a game plan to exploit these advantages. I also enjoy the grind and work behind getting better each season and off-season.
I am different from other candidates as I had an ACL tear going into my sophomore year (April 2023). I just had had a very successful freshman year and was playing a year up for my AAU Program (2025 vs my graduating year 2026) as that particular team needed a point guard. I tore my ACL the 2nd tournament of that AAU season. I then had my surgery May 31, 2023 and rehabbed 4 to 5 days a week for 12 months. Many of these workouts were before my school day started at our local YMCA. I am proud of the fact that I attended almost every workout, practice and game (summer, fall and winter season) for the varsity team. I spent 3 months slowly starting to play again while continuing my rehab workouts and played my first game in June of 2024. This process showed my how much I missed basketball and being able to help my team.
As I approach my Junior season, I am attending all basketball optional activities with our varsity team but also lifting and getting stronger 3 to 4 days a week. At only 5'9 currently, I know that I need to be the strongest player on the court. I am going to be the team captain and am already encouraging and helping the younger players.
Academically, college coaches will not need to be worry about my grades and eligibility. I work independently and am open to helping my teammates as needed.
