My name is Eric Isaiah Robinson, but you can call me "Isaiah." I am now a senior at Faith Christian Academy. I can't believe it is almost time to start a new chapter in my life; college! I was the captain of the Junior Varsity basketball team and MVP during my freshman and sophomore years, and sixth man on the Varsity team freshman through junior years. I won the varsity "Most Impactful" player award as a junior. I am looking forward to my new role as a team captain and starter at the point guard position. Winning two District titles in a row and just missing the advancement to States, I have my eyes set on the prize. My goal as a high school scholar athlete is to win the Regional Title and head to the State Basketball Championship in 2019!
I would like to share a little about me and how I incorporate the love of science into my athletic world. You may ask what makes me different from everyone else. Quite frankly I'm glad that you asked that question. The energy that I bring on and off the basketball court and soccer field is like no other: My focus is analytical, constantly drawing up equations to figure out my opponent’s next move. Hence, this is why I am one of the best defenders in the state! Using physics and biology helps me to discern how you will move your body which gives me the advantage along with my quickness of stealing the ball from your hands in basketball or feet in soccer. What also guides me in playing sports is understanding the material of which the objects are made of, for instance; the backboard of the hoops whether it's made from fiber glass or wood. The basketball; is it made of leather or synthetic material and etc... And so, my formula looks like this: (Science + 110% work ethics at practice and games/Time=SUCCESS! Whether it is coming off the bench or starting, I will do my best to make sure that my team wins in the end.
I really like to get my teammates involved in the game. I can survey and examine every inch of the court so I can hurl out assists. I am the extension of the couch out on the floor. I love the game of basketball. I think it is so exciting. I love when the games get down to the wire and the pressure is on. The rush of adrenaline and wanting to win the game for the team is exhilarating! And when you actually do win, it is so satisfying knowing that everything you and your team did finally paid off! Basketball is a great sport. It’s a game that allows you to stay fit as well as putting the puzzle pieces together while traveling through a maze. This can be pretty exciting to say the least.
My Ambition in life is to be a Chemical Engineer with a doctorate degree. My desire is to work with new and existing elements; whether to develop products for athletes or design a drug or vaccination to turn off the genomes for cancer cells. Although I am young and do not know what my soul purpose is in life, one thing for sure, I want to help make the world a better place. And I want to pay it forward by helping others do the same.
