In 2017 I became a champion in South Carolina for High Jump. In 2021 I placed 3rd in the state for the 400m dash. It is very vivid in my mind because I had so many people supporting me and around me and I just did it. I didn’t exactly think about what would happen if I won I just kept going until I couldn’t anymore.
I love basketball because the game is intricate and it takes more than just a strong body to succeed. By the end of high school, I want to be able to run a 47-second 400m dash. Most importantly last year my goal was to win a state championship as a member of the Wilson High team. We've done that and now I want to see us repeat it. I am always proud of myself and my team when we set our sights on a task and complete it.
When I started the IB program in 7th grade I didn't think I was smart enough to do it, but I never quit. I finished the middle years program and now I'm in dual enrollment at Francis MarionUniversity. I’m always excited to push myself whether it’s in sports or education.
I look forward to college because I'm excited to see just how far I can push myself in a new environment. I'm also looking forward to learning from new coaches and teachers and trainers the things that will help me propel myself even farther forward in life.
