My name is Jaiden Issaic Campbell and I am 18 years old from Anna, Texas. There are four words that shape my life: God, family, School and Basketball. I have been an avid student of the sport of basketball since my earliest memories. The absolute adoration of the game led me to playing from 1st grade to present day.
Through my basketball career playing for Anna Middle School and Anna High School I have had achievements, lessons and adversities. For achievements, in 8th grade I was recognized and received a medal for individual performance for the Denton Braswell Tournament. My Freshman year the Anna Freshman team went undefeated in District, earning 1st place and ended the season with an overall record of 26-3. One of the main adversity and had to overcome was the lack of playing time my Sophomore year playing on Varsity. Through this experience I gained a massive amount of time for self reflection. My reflections of self led me to making the decision to spend more time and put more work into my craft. I sharpened my court vision, defensive skills, shot form, weight room presence, and my sheer knowledge of the game.
My Junior Year on Varsity. My team ended the season in 3rd place in our District and made the first round of playoffs. My personal achievements for this year is that I have been recognized with the 1st team all defense and Academic All-District.
I just completed my Senior Year on Varsity. My team ended the season in 2nd place in our District. Our team won the first round earning us the Bi-District championship and moving to the next round on playoffs. Unfortunately, we lost in the second round. Our team finished with an overall record of 19-6. I was recognized and received Defensive MVP for the 9-4A district. I had an enjoyable and great year of basketball and hoping to be able to continue playing and evolving my game.
Over time I have realized I have a few recognizable assets that I can bring to any team, which include:
1. I am always active. My effort levels do not dwindle away because of my passion fueling me to push on, There's a very low percentage of time you will see me on my heels.
2. My ability to maintain high quality communication between my teammates and coach to achieve a goal as a unit.
3. I have the ability to recognize players tendencies which leads me to become more aware of what's going to happen on the next play.
4. I understand what it means to be a team. Synergy between teammates is key to the success of it.
5. I have a will to win. I understand the small details are what produces the satisfaction of a team win.
I am a person of integrity that coaches can depend on. I'm a believer of doing the right thing when others are doing wrong. I am somebody that can be a leader of your team.
