Hello coaches, my name is Jerren Godfrey and I am a three year starting varsity guard this 2017-2018 school year for Dayton High School in Dayton, Texas. I would love to earn a scholarship to play at the collegiate level. I pride myself on being a good on ball defender, passer and scorer. I always try to get my get my teammates involved and score when needed. The things that separate me from other recruits is that I continue to play the game whether we are up or down by twenty points. In order for me to be an asset to my team, I constantly work on my conditioning by running, lifting weights and putting up shots daily. In game situations, I watch the clock not the score. While on the sideline, I constantly cheer my teammates on and am always ready when called upon. I will continue being a leader in the classroom and on the court by trying to always encourage my teammates by always giving them a positive word in and outside of basketball.
I am able to play the 1, 2, and 3 positions but my primary position is the 2 and 3. As of now during preseason, I am averaging 20 plus points per game, 5 assists, 4 steals and 4 rebounds.
My junior year I averaged 10 points per game, 4 assists, 5 rebounds and 3 steals.
My sophomore year, I averaged 15 points a game, 5 assists, 3 rebounds and 5 steals per game on my varsity team.
I will continue to work hard individually so that I can help my team when and wherever they need me.
Best regards,
Jerren Godfrey
