My name is Gus Mills and I’m a 6’2” Combo Guard from Waco, Texas. Currently a freshman in the class of 2028, I will play on the varsity basketball team at Midway High School. My basketball journey started when I was 5 years old, inspired by the Baylor Bears. Since then, I have dedicated myself to the sport, playing on multiple AAU teams including Nike Proskills, Houston Hoops Jr EYBL circuit and now Southern Assault. My experiences have allowed me to develop a strong work ethic, high IQ, coach-ability, diversity in roles and a fierce drive to succeed. I’ve had the opportunity to showcase my skills at elite clinics such as Phenom America, CP3, Coast 2 Coast Preps, and John Lucas.
While basketball is my passion sport I’ve also excelled in football as a wide receiver and cornerback as well as in high jump and the 200 in track.
Academically, I am in honors classes and consistently have achieved A/B Honor Roll in both 7th and 8th grades in a competitive school district. I believe that my commitment to both academics and athletics would make me a strong addition to an elite program.
Personally speaking, my faith, my family and my friends are of utmost value to me. Because of my firm foundation, I know my purpose is to make the world a better place in all I do. Outside of sports, my interests include business entrepreneurship, traveling, culinary arts and anything that involves competition.
