Personal Statement

I love this game!  I've dreamed of playing at a high level in college all my life. I have been playing basketball since I could pick up a ball, motivated by my older brothers who played competitively.  I learned at a young age to do things with a basketball that I didn't know I shouldn't be able to do.  I have strong athletic capabilities and a great vision for the court.  I work hard and train hard both during and outside of practice.  I am a leader on and off the court, and strive to be one of the hardest working players for the teams I play for.  I'm honest, helpful, courteous, funny, and I listen well to my coaches, doing whatever they expect of me.

Outside of basketball I study hard and maintain an impressive GPA, taking difficult classes.  I'm fluent in French, having attended a French Immersion program since kindergarten.  I live my faith and have high standards.  I practice basketball every morning after attending an early morning church class Monday-Friday.  I'm an organist at my church and play the cello.  I recently finished all the requirements to become an Eagle scout.  I help with family chores and try to be a good friend.  Some friends and I are lettering through school in "Community Service" this year, with self-designed projects that include feeding the homeless and performing musically for residents in a Senior living Center.

I know that where I go to college will have a huge impact on my life.  I want to play basketball at the highest level of competition possible while also experiencing an outstanding education.   I want to have a positive impact wherever I go.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
