My name is Jonathan Parker and I am currently a Freshman ay EverrettCommunity College.I average 13.3 ppg.In HS I averaged 20.9 ppg on the varsity with - game high 36 points this season.I have played basketball since I was very little but committed to the sport of basketball at about age 10. I began playing on AAU travel teams at about age 12 in the Atlanta, Georgia area. I played for Utah Basketball Club.. As I began trying to improve my fundamental skills I quickly realized that quality practice, especially individual drills outside of practices helped me develop the skills I desired to improve to be a better player. My academic goals for high school are to be an honor graduate with a good foundation of classes to be prepared to succeed in college. My goal for college has always to been to graduate with a degree that would help me to provide for my family in the future. Presently I see myself doing work toward Medicine. I feel that I am unique in that I am friendly and compassionate to those around me at school and in social settings that are maybe less fortunate or have special needs. I am confident and have a good sense of humor.By playing on many different levels and types of basketball teams I have learned that my role is different many times on different teams. I am good at adapting my position and role on a team by feedback from coaches to the needs of the individual team. I have become mentally stronger by being placed in some key positions during some recent games, even being described by announcers as having "ice in my veins" after a recent varsity game. My father continues to be my mentor and biggest fan as he has taught me that I can do anything I want as long as I'm willing to put in the time and effort it takes to achieve my goals. I have been influenced as well by Jabari Parker and his spiritual, academic and athletic endeavors. He has been a great role model for me. I have recently earned my Eagle Scout Award.
The Boy Scout Oath has been a good guide for my life as I "promise to do my best...to keep myself physically strong, mentally awake and morally straight". This oath will help me be a better basketball player, teammate and young man.
