Personal Statement

I am a 6'3" Combo Guard from Arlington, VA.  I also play small forward when needed.   I am currently a Junior at Washington Liberty High school and start on the Varsity team.   This year our team won our district for the first time in 21 years!  We finished second in our region and qualified for the state tournament.   Personally I had a good season.  I averaged 10.2 ppg, 5.1 rpg, 3 ast, 3.5 stl, and 1.1 blocks.  I was named co-MVP of our team, Liberty District Defensive Player of the Year, First Team All-District, First Team All-Region (Class 6 Northern).  The Sun Gazette selected me as All County MVP in Arlington and First Team.  NOVAHoops.com named me First Team All-Nova, Juniors and DMV Elite selected me as Honorable mention 2022 DMVelite All-Northern Virginia Team.  I was also selected to the underclass squad representing Fairfax/Arlington/Alexandria in the Nova Challenge All-Star game.

My Sophomore year, I started on Varsity and we were able to play a shortened 16 game season this year.  Our record was 10-6, tied for second in our district and we lost to the eventual state champion in the regional playoffs.   I lead the team in rebounds, assists, steals, and deflections.  I was second in scoring and steals.  I was named to the All Defense Team, and Second Team in the Liberty District.

My 9th grade year I started on the Freshman team which went 13-3 and finished first in the district.

I have a 3.4 GPA and take a mix of regular, intensified (honors) and AP classes.

This year I will play on club circuit for Team ProLook coached by Tony Bentley.  Prior to that I played AAU basketball for NOVA 94 Feet for 7 years.   In 2020 we played several Hoop Group events, winning one as well as a placing first in several other regional tournaments.

I am beginning the recruiting process and looking for a school where I can find the right balance between the classroom and the court. I would like to pursue a university with a good academic reputation and at this point am undecided about my field of study.  Ideally, my athletic environment would be one where I could make a positive impact on the team.
