Matyas Kennard '28 Recruiting Profile

I have been a three sports athlete since the I was 5 years old. I have a huge love for all sport but none more than basketball. With great support from my family and coaches, I aspire to play at the next levels in hopes to becoming a better player and man. 

I have strong non-verbal leadership, great ball handling and passing skills, good defense both on the perimeter and post, a high IQ and I'm very coachable. I try to lead by example and also be a good teammate. I'm willing to spend extra time in the gym and weight room in order to be one of the hardest working players a coach can have. 

I play basketball year round by participating in Summer Leagues and being a member of two AAU teams. I also train for football and baseball and do optional weight training at my school to contribute to my physicality and athleticism. 

I've been on the A/B honor roll every since elementary school and have maintained a 3.5 GPA. I've won numerous AAU tournament MVPs as well as a 3 point shooting title during one of the biggest tournaments/ elite challenges in Virginia. 

I want to attend a college or University where I learn and grow as a student-athlete. I'm open to all schools to becoming a future alum and ultimately want to help lead my chosen school to it conference championships and respective post season tournament. I really want to be a great role model to my peers, and those that hopefully will look up to me, I want to represent my community and school in ways that will make my parents, coaches and those who all had hands in my growth proud of the man I hope to become.
