  • From NOVA Suns Team Manager . . . With the NOVA Suns winning their simi-final game today at the AAU National Tournament in Las Vegas they are one step away from completing the journey they set out on six months ago. With the championship game tomorrow I thought it a good point to reflect on the hard work and determination that has been put in by Coach Dewayne Nelson, Coach Daryle Pope, and these eleven amazing boys. The first practice was held on February 12th and their first game on March 6th. Since that first game through the last weekend before heading for Las Vegas the boys played fifty-three games, with a 44 and 9 win/loss record. Through those games the Team made it to the championship game of the different tournaments eight times, winning the championship five times. That brought them to this National Tournament where they have played four winning games to get into the National Championship game. The scores of those four games the last three days further reflect the spirit of the NOVA SUNS as a team . . . game #1 79 to 42, game #2 60 to 35, game #3 85 to 28, and today’s game at 65-51.
