Caleb Lyles '22 Recruiting Profile

I was born and raised overseas.  I have loved playing basketball for as long as I can remember and it would be a dream come true to be able to play in college.

I made the JV team at my high school in FL when I was a freshman, and earned the MVP on my team that year. I played varsity my sophomore year and was a regular starter. We moved to VA after my sophomore year, and because of COVID, my Jr season was cancelled this past year.

I am a team player and very coachable. I have a very competitive spirit and have a high basketball IQ. I can handle the ball well, have great court vision, and like to distribute the ball to teammates, but I prefer shooting guard over point guard if given the choice.  I am a confident three-point shooter, but my greatest strength might be my ability to rebound and defend near the basket.

Off the court I maintain a high GPA and I'm active in my community, where I work at a local Chic Fil A restaurant. I am also active in our church and I generally gravitate to leadership roles when the opportunities arise.

I have aspirations of pursuing a career in sports management after college, so I am looking for a college experience that will prepare me in the classroom, and also give me a chance to experience competitive basketball at the collegiate level.
