My entire life I've been the underdog that everyone dismissed until I took my respect time and time again. I will continue to face doubters and will continue to prove them wrong. While they are underestimating me they have no knowledge of the fact that I played 2-3 years ahead in sports most of my childhood. What they don't know is that I bubble wrapped my broken arm to play in a soccer tournament against kids 3 years older than me and led my team in assists. I have no fear of these doubters or so called disadvantages. My experiences playing above my age taught me mental and physical toughness as well as how to use my advantages to mask or eliminate my disadvantages. It taught me hard work and it taught me that if I make a mistake, I make up for it on the other end. My biggest take away from being the underdog is that when everyone else is sleeping, I'm working.
I carry these lessons and this chip to everything I do and because of this I will succeed as a student athlete, as a collegiate point guard and at everything else I do in life. I strongly believe that I not only have the talent to help a college team, but I have the lead by example mindset and the contagious never quit and never beat attitude that will help my team exceed expectations. I assure you that I will take respect for myself but more importantly, for my TEAM.
