Personal Statement
Hello my name is Aly Hassan. I am an international diver from Cairo, Egypt looking to continue my college education in the United States. I have been diving for 8 years and I practice 6 days a week for 3 hours in the water, plus 2 hours drylands/gym. I am very good at adapting to new environments and forming connections with others, including coaches and other athletes. I spend my summers training in the United States for 4 weeks in a row at Ripfest Diving in Indiana to improve my diving and to gain experience living away from home. I am not afraid to try new dives and I am very coachable. I think I would be a great addition to any team because of my personality and unique circumstances. I attend an international school where I am fluent in French, English, and Arabic. Adapting to new environments is a strength of mine because I understand the sacrifices me and my family will make to send me 16 hours away from home to get a good education.
