I have been diving virtually my entire life, literally beginning as soon as I could paddle from the end of the board to the wall. Now that I am looking toward college, I would like to continue my sport as a scholar-athlete. I look forward to bringing my commitment and enthusiasm to both a NCAA diving team and my future college community.
Getting my start at the age of five, I have been diving in the Montgomery County Diving League (MCDL) for Glenwood Pool (Silver Spring, MD) for twelve summers. In the off-season, I train year-round with the Montgomery Dive Club/Montgomery County Aquatics program, missing only the sessions we lost to COVID. I also dive for my high school. My 2023 accomplishments include leadership as co-captain and finishes: 6th place at the 2023 Maryland Public Schools State Championships and setting the AEHS 11-, 6-, and 4-dive records; 2nd place at MPSSAA Region 4A/3A; 1st place in Divisionals; 16th place at the Washington Metropolitan Interscholastic Swimming and Diving Championships (Metros). I was honored as AEHS Swim and Dive Most Valuable Player for 2023 and State Finalist. In my summer league, I finished 7th place at the 2022 MCDL Division I Championship; 10th place in the 2022 MCDL ranking; and High Point Men’s 15-18 diver for my MCDL team, Glenwood. I was recognized by my coach, receiving the Honor Award at Glenwood for my leadership, character, and dedication to our team and sport.
My focus for winter 2022-2023 is developing my 3 meter dive list, expanding my 1 meter list, and competing in both AAU and high school meets. Through my commitment to hard work, I have carried 1st place finishes at every dual and divisional meet. I am looking forward to big finishes across our championship meets. Just as important, I have especially enjoyed my role as team captain for our team of 52 swimmers and divers. As well as managing our divers and helping them prepare for weekly meets, I promote team sportsmanship and team bonding throughout the season.
Academically, I am a junior at Albert Einstein High School in Kensington, MD, where I will graduate with the Class of 2024. In the classroom, I am an honors student in the Visual and Performing Arts Academy. My coursework includes all AP and IB courses in core subject areas and elective courses in both performing and visual arts. The mix of humanities and arts that I am exploring in high school is something I may like to continue in college. My interests are developing but political science, media, and economics are areas that I am considering. To blend my academic pursuits with collegiate diving as a scholar-athlete would be ideal. I look forward to exploring options across the NCAA community of diving programs.
