My name is Nils Herfindahl and I would like to be a diver in college because it's what I have always loved to do. I aspire to be the best diver that I can be and to reach my full potential diving and Academically. Even though I have recently moved to Belgium and had to deal with moving in the middle of the school year, I quickly found a pool with a dive team to help me keep up diving but also get a chance to socialize with other people in a completely new place. I don't only see diving as a sport but a place where I can find people that I can trust rely on and I can do the same for them. As a diver on a college team I will take the responsibility of having to deal with the tight schedule that the sport will give me and give me a more concrete plan for my day to day life in college. As a diver I have always seen myself as a risk taker because I rarely ever back down from a challenge. I am never afraid to step out of my comfort zone to try newer, more difficult things. My outward and energetic personality can bring a lot of good to a team and can help bring people together and form the strongest of friendships between people. Although my grades need a lot of improvement I am willing to make the sacrifice to the team to keep myself in check and help myself and others focus on what matters.
