I was never really interested in playing golf, even though my grandfather tried to get me involved in at a young age. I wanted to play soccer instead. I began playing soccer at age five and have been playing it ever since. At the start of my junior year in high school, I played a few rounds of golf with my grandfather. I became hooked! I am enrolled in Alabama’s virtual high school, which has enabled me to play golf nearly every day. I have continued to play golf and work part time while doing my school studies. I was very fortunate this past April to caddy for one of the players in the Korn Ferry Tour tournament that was played on my home course. This experience made me realize how much I loved golf, and inspired me to continue to improve to hopefully play for a college and possibly longer. Even though I have not played for many years, I believe I have the potential to continue to improve and would be a positive asset to a college team because I am disciplined, determined, and have good sportsmanship.
