Hensen McCrary '27 Recruiting Profile

I'm Hensen McCrary a golfer of the 2027 class. I have been playing competitive golf since I was 6 years old. I started with PGA Junior League, advanced to US KIDS, and now play on the Alabama Junior Golf Trail, JGA & HJGT. I have also started on my 6A high school golf team since the 8^th grade. I have been very fortunate to have several resources available to assist my golf journey. I have taken weekly lessons from a PGA golf coach (Steven Debor) since I have started playing. That has given me access to all the latest technologies to fine tune my swing, plus on course mentorship from a proven professional. Currently my family has a course membership and a golf launch monitor at home, which allows me to practice daily.

Although the statement above is a great sales pitch, I know that my LOVE for the game is the most important aspect. My dad was a collegiate athlete and ever since I can remember he has had me involved in golf. The love for the game truly advanced through him. Now that I’m older I can’t even imagine a life without golf.

I understand that golf scholarships may not cover all cost related to my education. My father is retired Air Force and I am eligible for five years full tuition and books through his service disability. Plus, he has the GI bill that he has given me.
