Growing up in Canada has influenced my life in a huge way because I grew up playing hockey and not golf because Canada doesn't really have the climate for golf. But, even though I was good at hockey I didn't enjoy it as much as golf, because I felt like even if I was the hardest worker on my team it wouldn’t pay off as much. Over the last few years, I started not to enjoy golf as much because I was playing for the result and not the game. That showed me why this game is great and that has helped me to love golfing every time I play and not get caught up in the end result, but just to hit the shot in front of you.
I got to play on the Ryder Cup for the Alberta team, which taught me how to be a leader and a team player, which is different from playing by yourself on a course. My goals in school are to be the best student I can be and put as much work into school as I do golf.
