My name is Jaiden Koonar and I will be graduating in June 2023. I reside in Calgary, Canada and attend Webber Academy. I have begun to look at playing college golf in the US where I feel I have a strong academic and athletic fit, and can contribute to the school spirit and reputation.
By way of background, I currently have a 4.0 GPA and maintained gold honor roll since the beginning of junior high. I pride myself on keeping up with all of my school work, being a proactive student, and taking initiative. In addition to my commitment to academics, I am actively involved in school team sports including Senior Varsity basketball, volleyball and soccer. Outside of school, I have grown up playing both competitive hockey and soccer, along with the piano for 10 years making me a well rounded individual.
My primary goal for college is to be part of a tightly knit golf team while receiving a good education. For as long as I can remember, playing college golf has been my biggest dream. I am self-motivated and hardworking, with strong drive and work ethic. As a multi-sport athlete, I have been able to develop important leadership skills that have allowed me to prosper in all aspects of competition. My passion for golf is what pushes me to work harder everyday and strive to be the best.
The attribute that I believe sets me apart from most is my resiliency. Whether it is golf or school, in the face of adversity, I will always persevere through the challenges and believe in myself. I know that not everything in life will go the way I want it to, but I pride myself on how I bounce back.
