2021 SpotlightPersonal Statement
Passion, leadership, and clutch performances. This is what I will bring to your golf team.
Since I was young, I have had a desire to play college golf. I am winner in HJGT, JGAA, and UCKG events and tours. I have had a lot of success (and failure) in competitive individual tournaments but my favorite performances and experiences have come as part of my high school team. I know what it takes to be a part of a team competition and I thrive in the team environment. My goal is to be part of taking a college golf program to its next level and to be a supporter of that program beyond my playing years.
I wI’ll work hard in the classroom, on the range, and on the course.
As a Freshman on my high school team, I lettered as the #3 player on Varsity and helped our team finish 5th at state. As a Sophomore, I was the #2 player on our team that finished runner-up at state and I was Top 15 as an individual. My junior year, I helped lead my school to its first ever State Championship in men's golf and I finished in the Top 10 Individual Competition at state. For my Senior year, I have been selected captain and will be leading my team to defend our State Champ title.

- I shot 73-68 to finish 5th out of 23 with a -3 (141) tournament overall.

- This was my fourth and final year coming to this tournament, the largest high school golf tournament in the country. I finished 13th out of 249 golfers and shot 73-71-72 over two days.

- Helped lead my school to its first ever STATE CHAMPIONSHIP TITLE. I shot +1 on the first day and struggled a bit at the end of day two to finish with an overall +6 but it was still enough to secure an INDIVIDUAL Top 10 finish at State.

- Started with 73 and came back on the second round to shoot 67(-5) to win the Phoenix Junior Open.

- I shot -1 during this HS match and I'm highlighting here because it was a great example of mental/emotional toughness for me. Also, we got the W against a rival school on Senior Day.

- Had a rough start to this national HS team event and pushed through some tough breaks on the afternoon round on Friday. I shot 77-76-73 overall and left a lot of birdie chances out there. I hit a ton of fairways but I need to put in some work around the greens and with my decision making.

- I finished 4th overall after a first day 72. The event was cancelled during the second round due to weather and I was feeling good and about to go really low. I'm happy with the Top 5 finish but would have loved the chance to finish strong on the last day.

- I went 75-71 in this event. With the exception of one tough hole on day 1, I was pleased with my consistency. Definitely an event to build off of.
