Hello, my name is Ethan Bearden. I'm a 17 year old junior at Benton High School in Benton, AR. My main goal after high school is to go to college and earn my degree in either Business, Sports Management, or PGA Golf Management. My second goal is to play college golf. It doesn't matter whether I'm practicing, playing, watching, or even when I work at my home course on the weekends, I LOVE THIS GAME. There is no place I'd rather be or feel the most comfortable than on the golf course.
I've always played sports growing up: basketball, baseball, football, and golf. I played basketball, baseball, and golf on my high school junior varsity or varsity teams as a Freshmen. After my Sophomore golf season I made the decision to forgo playing other sports and to focus on my favorite sport, GOLF and to start working toward my goal of playing college golf.
Starting in the spring of 2018 I played in my first ever big junior golf tournament. I didn't play very well according to my scorecard but I had a good experience and learned a lot from the other players. By the end of the summer I had lowered my scoring average and even finished in the top ten of one of the tournaments I entered. I found that after each tournament I played my score would get a little lower. I'm proud of what I accomplished over the summer and hope to build on that my junior high school season this fall. This past week my high school team played a match and I was the team medalist shooting a +1, 73. I know where I started last spring and how far I've come and how hard I've worked and practiced to get here. I plan to continue hitting the books hard to keep my GPA up and hitting the golf ball every day just like I have this past year so I can reach my goals.

Playing in my first match play event ever I'd say I had a good experience and I learned some things that I will remember for next year when this tournament rolls around again.

- ActivitiesI work part-time after school and weekends at my home golf course as a cart boy. I have been a volunteer for our junior golf program at my home course the last three summers and in the spring with our Women's Golf Association annual golf tournament. I attend First Baptist Church in Benton and a member of the upper room youth group. Coach/organizer of one of my high schools Powder Puff Football teams. Helped organize a fundraiser for one of my best friends/team mates by selling t-shirts to help with his hospital bills after he collapsed on the baseball field and was in the ICU for over a month.
