I am currently a senior, attending Duncan Christian School in Duncan, British Columbia, Canada. I rank within the top 3 in my class, with a G.P.A. of 3.7 out of 4. My reading and math scores on the SAT are 1360. I am 5’11” and weigh 180 lbs.
I began hitting a golf ball before I could walk and golf has continued to be an integral part of my life since. Although I played competitive hockey at a high level up until freshman year and attained a second degree Black belt in Taekwondo, it is the game of golf that I am passionate about. Through golf I have learned many life skills, including setting goals and going after them as well as meeting challenges. I believe I would be an asset to your team as I am hard working, motivated and truly passionate about the game.
Some highlights of my golf career include placing 1st at the CJGA Junior Worlds Qualifier in March of 2010, 1st at the CJGA Optimist Qualifier in May of 2010 and 4th in the IJGT Tournament of Champions in May 2010. I also finished 4th in the B.C. Junior Boys held in July of 2010 earning a position on the Canadian Junior Boys’ B.C. team. In August of 2010, I placed 35that the Canadian Junior Boys. This year I qualified for the US Junior and was the alternate for the USGA Public Links Qualifier (lost in playoff). I also represented British Columbia in the Junior America’s Cup for a second year and competed at the Junior Worlds. I finished tied for 13th at the FCWT National Championship and placed 10th in the B.C. Junior Boys.
My golfing strengths include iron play and fairway woods. My goals for this year include improving my consistency. To this end I have begun the initial phases of a swing change which I will continue to work on throughout the rest of the season and into the off-season. I have also been following a work-out program three times per week in order to improve my physical conditioning.
I am looking forward to becoming part of a smaller university community with a strong academic base. I am interested in pursuing a degree in either sciences or business. I am looking to be part of a competitive golf program with a coach who can help me get to the next level.
I look forward to hearing from you and want to further discuss potential playing opportunities in 2012 and beyond.
Regards,
Cameron Davison
