Hello. My name is Philip Thome and I love to play golf. From a real young age, I watched my dad compete in golf tournaments. That's really where I fell in love with the game. Golf became and is my passion and my goal is to play college golf at the highest level possible while studying to become an orthopedic surgeon. My cumulative GPA is currently a 3.76 and I will strive to maintain this throughout the remainder of high school years and into college. I have played both Varsity Golf and Baseball. As well, I am involved in 4-H as a teen leader, youth group at our local church, while maintaining a part time job. I have also been involved in a wide variety of community service projects, including the one that I am currently volunteering for at our local Recreation Center assisting youth in a summer golf program.
I have been exposed to a variety of team sports throughout my youth including, but not limited to; football, basketball, and baseball along with individual sports like swimming and golf. This, coupled with my outgoing personality and my ability to play good golf makes me a solid addition to any golf program.
My positive outlook, commitment to excellence, winning attitude and solid work ethic is what separates me from other candidates. I will enhance any program and hope that you will add me to your list of possible invites to your college golf team.
